SFMTA Update - August 2025

The SFMTA still faces a $320M deficit, with little progress on major safety promises, particularly Vision Zero, which the agency now admits will require changes far beyond their current strategies. There is growing demand for a pause on all but essential SFMTA projects until the agency’s operation and finances are re-examined. Expect more calls to halt status quo spending and major pressure for city officials to put real oversight and accountability front and center this summer
