Joel Engardio Recall Update - August 2025

The special election to determine whether District 4 Supervisor Joel Engardio will be recalled is set for September 16th, with early voting and ballot drop boxes opening August 18th at the Ortega Branch Library (3223 Ortega St) and Parkside Branch Library (1200 Taraval St), as well as at City Hall. District 4 voters will face a simple Yes or No (on Prop A) recall question and no replacement candidates will appear on the ballot. Should the recall succeed, Mayor Lurie will appoint an interim supervisor until the next regular election in June 2026. Key dates include a September 2nd voter registration (by mail) and an October 16th deadline for the Department of Elections to certify results.
