Statement from ConnectedSF Regarding the 13th Street Safety Project

ConnectedSF exists to amplify the voices of everyday San Franciscans, not to replace or overshadow them. Our role is to provide residents with information, tools, and structure to participate in public processes that often feel inaccessible. San Franciscans themselves lead the way; we simply help them be heard. Unfortunately, this article does nothing to help readers understand that the debate over 13th Street is not a binary between ‘activists and obstructionists.’

These views were reflected by parents, small business owners, and daily commuters trying to balance safety, access, and economic vitality. By omitting this nuance, the story erases the role of individual citizens who researched, analyzed, and elevated concerns about the 13th Street project. It matters that this *was* a community-led initiative. ConnectedSF has not spoken on this project since June 2025.
